At Speyborn, we believe that every attendee of a Spey Casting Course should finish with a good understanding of Spey Casting, and will go home extremely satisfied with the course they have taken.

Each day or session starts with a short theory section or overview, then concentrates on the practical side. Classes need to be kept small, no more than eight students per instructor for beginners, six per instructor for improvers and five per instructor for the advanced classes.

Each class needs to be run on (ideally) flowing water, with enough access (wading) of at least one hundred feet between each caster. Ideally the access must be close to a bridge or shallow enough to wade to either side, so that casting from either river bank can be practiced. It is not practical for someone from Speyborn to come and check the venue, so this is left to the discretion of the organizer.

The following are the current costs for a Private Spey Class. This is for a maximum of 8 clients, for one instructor, usually Simon Gawesworth. For larger classes there will be two qualified instructors up to an absolute maximum of 12 clients.

These charges are for Private Tuition in Idaho Falls, Idaho only. Other class locations are possible, but will incur additional traveling expenses.
